Hofbräuhaus Guide for The Hard to Buy For
By Rachel Gyarmati
Happiest of Holidays, Dear Reader!
In the spirit of this season of giving, we’d like to give you the practical gift of easy gift-giving and the opportunity to make lasting memories with those you hold dear this season. Therefore, this month’s blog is dedicated to shopping for those hard to buy for people on our list. We don’t want to give you too much of a shock this late in the year, but everything on this list can be found at Hofbräuhaus Columbus.
Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to the Hofbräuhaus Guide for The Hard to Buy For!
The One Who Moved
We can’t always celebrate with the ones we’d love to. So many families struggle to give gifts that will remind relocated relatives of home and put a smile on their faces. For those relatives, we suggest a little something from our Gift Shop.
Everything in our Gift Shop is 15% off every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas! What better way to give someone a touch of home than going out for a family dinner and then picking a gift to send as a group? The savings is just icing on the cake.
Some fun items in our shop are:
- T-shirts (short and long-sleeved)
- Bier steins
- So much more
We can’t pay for your shipping, but we guarantee a warm smile every time they use that gift.
The College Kid/Young Adult
College kids and young adults are a tough crowd to buy gifts for. They love to come home and see younger siblings they’ve missed, but if they’re 21 or over, they want to have a Bier with their parents. So, we suggest 15% off the sweatshirt and a gift card for them!
Gift cards allow them to take out that special someone or to enjoy a meal with friends on their own time. While our gift cards do not apply to alcohol, they help your kiddo save money and have a good time. What better gift is there than free food!?
- Our gift cards can be purchased online.
- Until December 24, for every $50.00 in gift cards purchased, you receive a bonus $10.00 gift card.
- Our gift cards are redeemable at Hofbräuhaus Columbus!
The One Who “Just Wants to Spend Time With Family”
These loved ones are often the hardest to buy for. Of course, they are happy to receive gifts, but at the end of the day, their cup gets filled by being with those they love. So for them, we suggest a good old-fashioned family dinner here at Hofbrauhaus Columbus.
A traditional dish that will wow them and warms them up is December’s featured dish, Sauerbraten. We marinate beef in red wine and our spices. The meat is slow-cooked with veggies and then paired with red cabbage and buttered Spatzle. A generous layer of Sauerbraten gravy is poured over the beef and veggies giving it a refreshing tang.
Toast the holidays with our December seasonal bier, Weihnachtsbier, or Christmas Lager. This Lager is unique because of the “spiciness” of the finish caused by the hops.
Over dinner, take candid pictures and reminisce over past holidays. The pictures make a great gift for any occasion after, and the memories will leave anyone there with good feelings. Any children in your group can enjoy our delicious kids’ menu and will have a family memory to pull happiness from.
Your Friend Group
Be the hero in your group and bring them to our Happy Hour! Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For most adults, meeting with friends for just an hour or so can make their day, especially if you haven’t seen one another for a while.
Happy Hour Specials
- ½ Liter of Dunkel, Weizen, or Lager $4.00
- A single glass of Haus Wine is $4.00
- $5 Happy Hour Bites
Sitting and having fun over drinks that aren’t interrupted by kids, phones, or work can be a gift you can give and receive simultaneously. Does this make you an overachiever at gift-giving?
Yes. Yes, it does.
See You Next Year!
We hope these suggestions help you do less work and have more fun this Holiday Season. We like to think of that as our gift to you this year.
Making someone feel seen, special, and appreciated is the one gift that won’t expire, tarnish, or be destroyed. It’s why we work to nurture fellowship over drinks and dinner the way the original Hofbräuhaus did in Germany over 400 years ago.
Before we close on 2022, we would like to give the gift of gratitude and admiration to our staff, who help us to make it happen day in and day out. We also thank you, the reader, for being here. You’re the reason we do what we do! We love your feedback and appreciate you tagging us this year on social media. It’s been a joy to see your fun.
The blog will be back in 2023 to celebrate our heritage and keep our community in the loop about our upcoming fun. Until then, Prost! (cheers) to you and yours. Happy Holidays, and may your 2023 be fantastic.
